Address the Tough Questions

Step 38.

Donors are in control of the giving process.

Many people will not donate because of an unspoken hesitation. Your job is to either directly or indirectly address their apprehensions. The following questions are often on a donor’s mind when they are considering making a gift.

What are Donors Thinking?

1. How did you get my name?
2. Will my privacy be compromised?
3. I can't afford to give much right now so will my modest gift really make a difference?
4. What are you going to do with my money?
5. I don't want any more junk mail, how can I control what I receive?
6. Can you prove what you say?
7. I don't know you, how can I trust you?
8. I already support similar organizations so why should I support you too?
9. What will you send me next?
10. Can this wait?

Givers Take Image, I've given to charities in the past but never heard from them as to how my money was used.
